Troubleshooting Audio Capture Setup

Make sure Supanote can hear your sessions clearly- here’s how to fix audio issues fast

Updated over 5 months ago

If Supanote isn’t picking up your session audio, whether during a live call or in-person recording, it’s usually a quick fix.

Follow these steps to make sure everything’s set up right.

Check Your Microphone Settings

Make sure Supanote is using the correct input device:

  • On Chrome, click the 'Preferences' icon in your browser’s address bar.

  • Select Site Settings > Microphone.

  • Choose the right mic (e.g., internal mic, external mic, headphones).

  • Refresh Supanote after making changes.

For Telehealth Sessions (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)

When you're capturing a session happening in another browser tab, follow these steps:

  1. Click “Telehealth” in your Supanote dashboard.

  2. Your browser will open a screen-sharing popup.

    • Select the Chrome Tab where your telehealth session is taking place.

    • Make sure “Also Share Tab Audio” is toggled ON (default setting).

  3. Click “Share” to begin capturing

Supanote will now listen in and process the conversation in real time - without recording or joining the call.

Having Trouble Starting Your Telehealth Session?

You might see an error message like:

“Screen sharing permission was denied or not available in your browser.”

This usually means your browser doesn't have access to your microphone or screen.

To resolve:

  • Use Google Chrome for the most reliable experience.

  • Allow microphone access and screen sharing when prompted.

  • Choose the correct Chrome Tab when selecting what to share.

  • Ensure “Share tab audio” is toggled ON.

Click “Check Again” in the Supanote prompt to re-test your setup.

Once all permissions are granted, your session should start smoothly.

Still Not Working?

If Supanote still isn’t detecting audio:

  • Try selecting a different microphone.

  • Quit and relaunch Chrome.
