How to get notes tailored to my modality (e.g., CBT, DBT, IFS)?

Customize your notes to match your clinical approach - automatically.

Updated over 3 months ago

Supanote allows you to tailor your documentation style to reflect the modality you use most in your practice - whether it’s CBT, DBT, IFS, EMDR, or others.

This ensures your generated notes are not only accurate, but also aligned with your clinical orientation and language.

There are 2 ways to do this using Supanote:

1. Set Your Preferred Interventions

  • Go to Settings (profile icon → Settings)

  • In the left menu, click Note Preferences

  • Under Custom Instructions, type or select your common techniques (e.g., “cognitive restructuring,” “chain analysis,” “parts work”)

  • Click Save , Supanote will prioritize these in relevant sections of your notes

2. Use Supa AI to Refine for Modality

  • Open any generated note

  • Click Supa AI (top of note)

  • Enter a plain-language request, e.g.:

    • “Make this note more CBT-aligned”

    • “Include DBT-specific skills used”

    • “Adjust for an IFS-informed session”

  • Click Apply , Supa AI updates the note instantly

Pro tip: Use both methods

  • Preferences = consistent notes across sessions

  • Supa AI = quick per-note adjustments
